A little history...
Travis Mesman started cultivating his flight about ten years ago. He says “Cultivating Flight is my ongoing effort in the fight against gravity and instilling in others that they can do anything that enters the scope of their imagination. These goals can be achieved through daily practice, rigorous training, but otherwise through play. My personal practice includes taking all forms of dance class and continuous play in breakin', capoeira, aerial dance, and acrobatics.”
Since coming to the Arizona Valley you've seen Cultivating Flight doing these cool things...
performing the acro-modern duet Mars 4.2 at the Arizona Dance Festival and Celebration of Dance concerts
stilt walking at Angela Johnson's Vaudeville Mystery Menagerie Fashion show at the Clarendon Hotel
being super sci-fi robots at club e4 for DJ Steve Aoki's Retro Futuristic event
performing a beautiful aerial adagio act for SAS Dance Studio's Cirque du le Dance at the Higley Performing Arts Center
wall dancing down the pool-side wall of the Clarendon Hotel alongside performances of Scandalesque
and all the super-cool events listed on this blog!

Nicole Graffeo
Aerialist extraordinaire...
about Nicole
Nicole received her aerial dance training from Amanda Topaz of Rockit Aerials in NYC. She has performed in most parks and on many stages throughout her hometown of NYC, but is more proud to have produced dozens of dance concerts and presented her own choreography in quite a few as well. Nicole was on faculty teaching Simonson Jazz at Dance New Amsterdam before moving to Arizona in 2007. Since the move across country Nicole has taught master classes at too many local studios to name, as well as semesters at Glendale and Scottsdale Community College, and residencies at Paradise Valley Community College and the Arizona School for the Arts. She is currently on faculty teaching modern at the School of Ballet Arizona, and also gives private aerial dance lessons. Want to fly? email info@cultivatingflight.com
